Just days after acquiring its first offshore wind site in Estonia, Norway’s Deep Wind Offshore has secured another area in the Estonian part of the Baltic Sea with a winning bid starting at approximately EUR 1.33 million.

The winner of the auction can commence with the development of an offshore wind farm in the Saare 2.2 area, which spans 88.5 square kilometres, said CPTRA. According to its building permit application, Deep Wind Offshore plans to install up to 56 wind turbines with a total capacity of up to 840 MW in the area.

This is in addition to the 98 units the company plans to install at the Saare 2.1 site, which covers 163.8 square kilometres.
