TEGOS (formerly TGS Baltic) had the opportunity to advise Diotech OÜ, a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions in Estonia, on an international procurement organised by Eesti Energia.
During the project, in collaboration with LG Energy Solution Ltd and Power Electronics, the Auvere battery storage station was constructed. It has a capacity of 26.5 megawatts and an energy storage capability of 53.1 megawatt-hours. The battery storage began operating on 1 February, just before the desynchronization of the Baltic electricity system from the Russian power grid. The constructed battery storage station is intended as a pilot project to ensure the suitability of the solution both in Estonia and in the company’s other domestic markets.
The TEGOS team, which included Sander Kärson, Imbi Jürgen, Liisa Levandi, Olger Kaelep, and Marija Toomjõe, provided the client with support on various legal issues. Their work ranged from public procurement procedures to complex contractual matters, ensuring the successful implementation of the large-scale energy storage project. The project introduced new technology and services to the Estonian market and addressed related contractual issues.
The large-scale storage aims to balance fluctuations in electricity prices arising from the growth of renewable energy production and to support the stability of the electricity system.
