ESTIKO Energia, part of the ESTIKO Group, has opened Southern Estonia’s largest solar park with green areas in Raadi, on the site of a former military airfield spanning 106 hectares. The park is capable of covering almost half of the annual electricity consumption of Tartu’s private households, with a peak capacity of 74 MWp and more than 104,000 panels installed. ESTIKO Energia invested over €40 million in the Raadi solar park.
According to Kristo Seli, CEO of ESTIKO Group, the Raadi solar power plant marks an important milestone for both ESTIKO and Tartu, following nine years of activity in the energy sector, with a battery storage facility set to follow next.
TEGOS advised ESTIKO Energia on the legal side of the project, drafting and negotiating the suite of commercial agreements underpinning the sale of electricity, including the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) covering the park’s entire output, a balancing services and electricity trading agreement, and a back-to-back agreement for onward sale to industrial consumers. TEGOS has advised on the project since 2019.
