TEGOS (formerly TGS Baltic) provided legal advice to the Estonian Ministry of Climate and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, two leading public sector authorities in the fields of real-time economy and digitalization, on the implementation of the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2020/1056 (eFTI Regulation).
The work focused on analyzing the regulatory changes required in Estonia’s national legislation to align with the eFTI Regulation. The regulation addresses the availability of freight transport information within the EU and applies to various modes of transport, including road, rail, air, and inland waterways.
The analysis covered an evaluation of the freight information requirements across all transport modes, as well as issues related to national supervision and data protection. Special attention was given to the potential for cross-utilization of data to support the objectives of the real-time economy.
TEGOS provided essential support by contributing to the development of technical and legal solutions that facilitate digital harmonization and more efficient regulation of the transport sector at the EU level.
The team included Indrek Kukk, Mart Kägu, and Liis Hääl.
