Dr Taivo Liivak advises businesses on technology law, focusing on artificial intelligence, product liability, service liability and regulatory compliance.
He has advised cross-border SaaS companies in both the mobility sector and the creative industries. His long experience as in-house counsel, combined with a diverse background in business, allows him to see legal issues in the wider context of the client’s business.
Taivo’s doctoral thesis examined tort liability for damage caused by self-driving vehicles under Estonian law. The thoroughness that comes with research also shapes his everyday advisory work. Taivo has taught at the University of Tartu, in both the School of Law and the Faculty of Philosophy.
In his free time, Taivo is expanding his knowledge of the law of England and Wales and learning Japanese.
