Peeter Viirsalu became a National Correspondent for the INSOL Europe EIR Case Register for Estonia

Senior Associate Peeter Viirsalu became a National Correspondent for the INSOL Europe (Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals) European Insolvency Regulation Case Register for Estonia.

INSOL Europe was formed in 1981 and is the European organisation of professionals who specialise in insolvency, business reconstruction and recovery.

The INSOL EIR Case Register was officially launched in 2011. It is an internet-based system for collecting and disseminating information on court decisions regarding the European Insolvency Regulation.

The purpose of the EIR Case Register is to promote worldwide awareness of the European Insolvency Regulation and to enable practitioners, insolvency office holders, judges, academic scholars and other interested persons to take judgments and other court decisions into account in dealing with matters within their responsibilities. Also, to promote the uniform interpretation and application of the Insolvency Regulation.

The general task of a National Correspondent is to monitor and collect court judgments and decision from their jurisdiction and to prepare abstracts of those considered relevant. Abstracts are intended to provide sufficient information to enable users of the Case Register to decide whether it is worthwhile to examine the complete judgment or decision that is the subject of the abstract.
