Kajus Pakėnas is a Legal Assistant, working within the Corporate practice group with a focus on the regulatory environment for investment funds and management companies.

He advises both domestic and international clients on licensing, passporting, and other early-stage operations, as well as assisting with the revision of internal procedures to align with evolving regulations. Kajus has worked with a wide range of clients, including hedge funds, alternative investment fund managers, venture capital funds, and brokerage firms.

His interests also include sustainability regulations and the development of sustainable finance. Kajus has worked on carbon credit certification projects in France and Lithuania and has previously advised start-ups and major corporations in Hong Kong on personal data protection, IP law, and AI regulation.

Kajus is currently pursuing his Master of Laws degree at Sciences Po Paris, specialising in market regulations. He has also spent time in the UK, Belgium, and Hong Kong, and has participated in research on public and private international law, minority and indigenous community rights, and corruption in China.

Outside of work, Kajus enjoys nature and often retreats to his cousin’s farm or takes road trips across Latvia. He’s an avid supporter of constructive debate and regularly attends events hosted by foreign policy think tanks. His favourite pastimes include basketball and sport climbing.
