Gailė Juozapaitytė-Gudžiūnė, LL.M. (Harvard)

Gailė Juozapaitytė-Gudžiūnė is an Associate Partner and Attorney at Law with distinguished expertise in international arbitration and the energy sector.

She represents clients in complex arbitration proceedings under leading institutional rules such as SCC, LCIA, and VCCA, and advises Lithuanian investors on investment protection in third-country jurisdictions. Gailė has successfully acted in high-profile arbitrations across multiple European jurisdictions, including commercial and investment disputes, and is known for her strategic mindset and deep legal insight.

Her notable cases include co-leading the team representing Vilnius City Municipality in a EUR 560 million commercial arbitration against Veolia Environnement S.A. and co-managing Lithuania’s defence in an ICSID arbitration in Washington, D.C. Gailė has also appeared before the European Court of Justice and regularly advises clients on investment protection matters.

Gailė has more than a decade of experience in the energy sector, focusing on legislative issues and regulatory compliance. She has advised on a wide range of transactions and disputes and contributed to the development of key national legislation. Notably, she advised on the return of Vilnius’ district heating assets to municipal control after a 15-year lease.

Gailė was recognized as a Future Leader in Arbitration in 2025 by Lexology Index and Global Arbitration Review.

Recently, Gailė completed her second master’s degree at Harvard Law School, where she deepened her understanding of common law systems and gained expertise in project management, design thinking, economics, and negotiation.

Outside of work, Gailė finds balance in nature and books. She enjoys hiking, traveling, horseback riding, and reading quality literature.
