February 9 now holds a special place in Lithuania’s history – it’s Baltic Energy Independence Day! This marks the long-awaited synchronisation of the Baltic States’ electricity grids with continental Europe, strengthening not only Lithuania’s energy security but also that of the entire region. For years, TEGOS has been an integral part of this process, working behind the scenes on complex legal and regulatory matters.
Our involvement also extended to providing legal expertise for the development of four electricity storage facilities with a total capacity of 200 MW – currently the largest such project in the Baltics, playing a crucial role in ensuring Lithuania’s energy security.
The entire journey was one of overcoming challenges, applying deep expertise, and ensuring seamless coordination at the highest levels, including with the European Commission.
Special congratulations to our lawyers who contributed their legal expertise, strategic insight, and dedication to making this project a success: Vilius Bernatonis, Dr. Paulius Zapolskis, Augustinas Razumas, Augustė Linauskaitė, and Pavel Jacunskij.
