TEGOS advised the Port of Tallinn in a complex restructuring and bankruptcy matter involving its former contractual partner, MPG AgroProduction OÜ.
The dispute arose after MPG AgroProduction OÜ defaulted on its obligations under a series of agreements governing the operation of a terminal on the Port of Tallinn’s premises, including cargo handling, shipping and rights of superficies. Following the contractual breaches, the Port of Tallinn terminated the agreements and initiated bankruptcy proceedings against the company. MPG AgroProduction OÜ subsequently applied for restructuring, but the court concluded that the company was insolvent and that restructuring could not remedy its financial situation.
The matter was successfully resolved in December 2025 through an agreement with the bankruptcy trustee, under which MPG AgroProduction OÜ returned the property to the Port of Tallinn.
