Merito Capital receives approval from the Competition Council to proceed with the transaction

TEGOS competition law experts represented SIA Merito Capital before the Competition Council in connection with the transaction to acquire a controlling stake in SIA Gaižēni thus securing approval for the merger.

The transaction provides for SIA Merito Capital to become the majority shareholder in SIA Gaižēni, one of the leading livestock farming companies in Latvia and a major player in the local agricultural sector. For more information, click HERE.

After reviewing the transaction, the Competition Council decided to approve it, concluding that the merger would not have a significant negative impact on competition in the relevant markets.
